Deputies Identify Body Found In Island Park

Deputies in Fremont County have identified the body found on a hillside on Saturday.

After examining dental records, deputies said they determined it was John Bryner of Rexburg.

He was found just west of the Coffee Pot rapids in Island Park nearly a month after Bryner disappeared.

Sheriff Len Humphries said a group of hikers came across the remains late Saturday afternoon.

Bryner’s body was discovered within 100 yards of where search efforts for him had been ongoing since he was last seen on June 30.

Bryner had gone on a canoe trip on the Henry’s Fork River. Several days later, police found his canoe.
