Idaho Falls Library Holds Chalk-Art Show

For more than 20 years, children and their parents have gathered at the Idaho Falls Public Library once a year to take part in the Kaleidoscope Sidewalk Chalk-Art Show, and this year’s event, held on Thursday, was another hit.

Eighty-one squares were available. The children signed up for a square to color once they finished the library’s summer reading program, but anyone could join. Children grabbed chalk and got to decorate their space any way they wanted.

“Some people are very, very creative and they plan it out before they get here, and they have beautiful artwork and drawings. The kids like to write their names or a sun, whatever is in their heart, and they draw that and that is fun,” said LaDawn Fiacco, Idaho Falls Public Library.

Fiacco said one of the greatest things about the event is seeing parents who used to come as children now bringing their children.
