Rubber Ducks Get Prepped For River Run

It is almost time for the 21st Annual Idaho Falls Duck Race. More than 12,000 yellow rubber ducks have to be prepped.

It takes one day for Development Workshop workers to remove all of the old sticker numbers from the bottoms of the ducks and another day and a half to stick on the new ones. The group loves doing the work for the community.

“We enjoy it; we get the big duck to come by and visit. So it is kind of a celebration of the community, and it is really a fun thing everyone looks forward to. Toward the end we do get tired of all the yellow ducks and taking care of them,” said Mike O’Bleness, CEO of Development Workshop.

The next stop for the ducks? They will be shipped to Roseburg, Ore.,for another race.
