Pocatello Man Pleads Not Guilty In Wife’s Killing

Michael Lane Sparks pleaded not guilty Monday to a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Judith Rachel Johnson.

Sparks was arraigned in Bannock County Court Monday.

He was charged with murder after police say he killed Johnson in May. Sparks was found after he got into a car crash flipping his vehicle and injuring himself.

Sparks will be back in court on Oct. 3 for his pretrial hearing, and his trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 16.
