Rexburg Rapid Slide Too Rapid

Rexburg’s new water park has exceeded expectations all summer long, but unfortunately one of the park’s features doesn’t seem to be able to stay on the ground.

The Rexburg Rapid’s more thrilling blue slide has proven to be too rapid.

Engineer’s said they will have to redesign the slide for the second time.

Volunteers who tested the slide received a few head bumps on the test runs due to the rapid speed of the slide.

The second design decreased the speed from the original version but apparently not enough.

“We don’t want to open anything that is not safe, obviously, so safety is the No. 1 priority. They will try to re-engineer it and we will go from there,? said city spokesman Scott Johnson.

The engineers are footing the bill for the slide’s redesign, but said they hope to have it reconfigured and installed before the end of the season.
