Camp Held For Kids With Diabetes

A camp this weekend in Pocatello is helping dozens of local kids deal with with a difficult disease.

The Juvenile Diabetes Camp is held for all kids with type 1 diabetes.

The camp put on games and activities to teach the kids about diabetes and have fun at FMC Park.

Organizers said the main purpose of the camp is to help the kids meet friends who are going through the same challenges.

“Our whole goal with this is that we want them to have a fun time with each other. We want them to learn more about diabetes, but most of all we want them to have friends with each other so that when they have trials or struggles with their diabetes they can rely on each other,? Diabetes Education Coordinator Nancy Bickley said.
