Idaho Supreme Court Meets With Public In Pocatello

Locals in Pocatello got the chance to shake hands with the members of the state’s highest court Thursday morning.

The Idaho State Supreme Court is in Pocatello for a few days and held a meet and greet at the Bannock County Courthouse for any members of the public who had a question or two for the justices.

The Idaho Supreme Court is required to spend time in a different part of the state each year.

Chief Justice Roger Burdick said the Idaho courts are changing to become much more easy for the public to use.

?Idaho’s court system is an excellent court system, and it has been for years, but in order to keep up with new technologies, to keep up with efficiencies because of budget constraints, we’re having to rethink our management system and our case handling system from top to bottom,? Burdick said.

Burdick said people will be able to file their court documents electronically within a few years.
