UI Reports Enrollment Increase Of Idaho Students
The University of Idaho is reporting a six percent increase in the number of Idahoans enrolling as freshman.
Administrators attribute the increase in Idaho freshmen to programs designed to increase scholarships for residents. Nearly 75 percent of the new freshmen are from the state, and of those, nearly 34 percent are from families in which neither parent earned a degree at UI.
The university is also reporting a slight increase in total enrollment at all five of its campuses statewide. The university is reporting 12,312 students, with more than 11,000 students based in Moscow.
The fall semester numbers also show a five percent increase in diversity among incoming freshmen. Overall, more than 18 percent of freshmen are diversity students.
The university also reports a 1.2 percent increase in graduate students.
