Soda Springs Officer Arrested For Domestic Disturbance

Soda Springs police officer Anthony Stuckey, 25, is currently suspended from his position, Police Chief Joe Rice said Monday. Rice said he is disappointed by the unfortunate circumstance because he holds his officers to a much higher standard. Rice is waiting for the results of the Caribou County Sheriff Office’s investigation of the situation to take more action, he said.

Details of the investigation are not being released at this time, said Sheriff Ric Anderson, because those details could compromise the investigation. The sheriff’s office is still conducting interviews and there is no indication of how long the process will take, Anderson said.

Stuckey was arrested on New Year’s Eve after an altercation with his girlfriend, Jamie Hemmert, 27. Stuckey has been charged with battery and disturbing the peace. Hemmert has also been charged with battery and disturbing the peace.

Regular citizens can typically bounce back from this kind of charge, but for a law enforcement officer, it could mean the end of a career, Rice said.

Stuckey is set to appear in court on Jan. 11.

Authorities say a Soda Springs police officer has been arrested in a New Year’s Eve domestic disturbance involving his girlfriend.

Caribou County sheriff’s officials arrested Anthony Stuckey and charged him with battery and disturbing the peace. He was being held Sunday in the Caribou County Jail.

The Idaho State Journal reports that Stuckey was charged after being involved in an altercation with his girlfriend. The girlfriend, whose name has not been released, also faces battery and disturbing the peace charges.
