Police Arrest Suspect In Stolen Credit Card Case

Idaho Falls police have arrested a man they say used a stolen credit card at various Idaho Falls businesses.

Joseph Francis Robinson, 35, of Idaho Falls is being charged with grand theft.

At the beginning of January, police said the alleged victim of a wallet theft told them that someone had used three of his credit cards. The credit card user made purchases, ranging from $9.47 to $158.90, at the Stinker Station on East First Street, Albertsons and Holiday Oil, both on West Broadway, and an Exxon Mobile at an unknown location, they said.

Officers said they used video surveillance footage and the public’s help to identify the suspect. They said they had identified a suspect Jan. 4, but did not name him at the time. They arrested Robinson on a warrant Wednesday, and announced his name and alleged connection to the case Thursday.

Robinson was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
