Police Partner With Website To Provide Neighborhood Crime Info

Law enforcement agencies in the Blackfoot area have teamed up with a website to help you get current information to protect your family and community.

Blackfoot Police Department, Aberdeen Police Department, Shelley Police Department, and Bingham County Sheriff?s Office have partnered with AlertID, which is a website that provides localized information on crime, terrorism, natural disasters and local sex offenders.

The site also allows residents to connect to neighbors, and local as well as federal and state agencies, to exchange information that can help keep their family and community safe, whether the threat is national, local or personal, such as a missing child.

?I would encourage all Blackfoot, Aberdeen, Shelley and Bingham County residents to sign up for this free online service that can truly help keep our neighborhoods safer,? Blackfoot Police Chief David Moore said in a news release Monday. ?This is a powerful tool to help residents be more aware of crime and threats in their community, and be more proactive in looking after the safety of their families and their neighbors.?

Registering with the site is free. Go to www.alertid.com for more information.
