15 Vehicles Burglarized In Apartment Lot
Rexburg police said 15 vehicles have been burglarized in the Hyde Park apartments parking lot on Fifth West.
Police said two vehicles were entered at about 3:50 a.m. Monday. A tenant was heading to work when he discovered two men in his neighbor?s vehicle with an interior light on. The tenant approached them, and they fled on foot east on the Seventh South area.
Items fell from the suspects? pockets while they ran. The person chasing them noticed one of the items came from his vehicle, police said.
Items reported to police as stolen include a camera, sunglasses, CDs and CD cases.
According to an account from the victim who saw them, the suspects are described as 6 feet tall, slender build and wearing black clothing. One had thick black hair, a long skinny face with an athletic build. One of the culprits had a wind breaker type pair of pants or jacket because he could hear the sound. One of the suspects was wearing a black beanie cap. Both were clean shaven and in their early 20s.
It appears all the burglarized vehicles were left unlocked.
