Credit union robbed

Police continue to investigate after a man robbed the East Idaho Credit Union Tuesday afternoon.

Bingham County Sheriff Dave Johnson said a man in his late teens or early 20’s robbed the business on West Fir in Shelley at 4 p.m.

Shelley Police say the man didn’t appear to have any visible weapons and was only inside the building for a few short minutes before taking off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

He was wearing a black hat, red hoodie and sunglasses and escaped on foot.

A car was stolen in the area, and law enforcement officials believe it was connected to the robbery. It is a black 1998 Isuzu Rodeo, which was locacted later in the evening around 7pm Tuesday, behind the Broulim’s supermarket.

Local News 8 spoke with the Shelley Police Department, who is leading the investigation, and they said they are not looking for a second vehicle at this time but that they do believe the suspect may have accomplices.

Officials continue to investigate.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to call police at 208-785-1234.
