Freedom rings at Huntsman Springs

Thousands of people flocked to Huntsman Springs Golf Course Saturday, June 30, to celebrate America and Independence Day.

Festivities began early in the day with fun and activities for the whole family. Highlights of the mid-day included an air show, a comedien/magician, BMX stunt show, and classic car show.

Events continued into the early evening with plenty of food, live music, and a salute to veterans on the main stage. The driving range filled with thousands of spectators awaiting to hear from former presidential candidate Jon Huntsman Jr., as he first wowed the crowd with his musical talents on the keyboard accompanying the Joe Muscalino Band. Huntsman later spoke of America’s greatness and Divine origin before introducing his father, Jon Huntsman Sr. The senior Huntsman talked of his Idaho and the integrity that came from this upbringing. He spoke ofAmerica’s goodness and strength derived from families. He said a wealthy man is one surrounded byfamily.

As a four-time cancer survivor, Huntsman also encouraged the audience to healthy and take care of themselves and to get screened for cancer. Huntsman is the founder of the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. He sharedthe advances intoresearch being done at the facility that will hopefully lead to a possible cure for cancer.

Thenight culminated with a fireworks production synced tomusicand narration that told the story of a young America and the trials leading up to our present-day freedoms that all enjoy. Emphasis was made on those that have gone on before and sacrificed and fought for America’s liberties.
