Chukars stumble in loss to Ogden

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — The Idaho Falls Chukars gave up six runs in the top of the fifth inning and couldn’t recover, falling to the Ogden Raptors 9-5 Tuesday night at Melaleuca Field.

With the loss, the Chukars fall to 8-8 on the year, three games behind the first-place Raptors.

Spencer Patton (0-2) went 4.2 innings on the mound for Idaho Falls, giving up four earned runs on seven hits in the loss. Patton struck out six and walked one.

Center fielder Ethan Chapman couldn’t extend his seven-game hitting streak, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

The Chukars return to Melaleuca Field Wednesday to celebrate July 4 with a 6 p.m. start time.
