Man wanted in Pocatello, Roy bank robberies

Police in Idaho and Utah are searching for a man they say robbed a bank in each state on Friday.

Ireland Bank in Pocatello was robbed Friday at 1 p.m. The bank is at 486 Yellowstone Ave.

Pocatello police say the man drove to Roy, Utah, and robbed a Wells Fargo bank at 4:30 p.m.

The bank robber is described as a white man in his 50s who is very thin, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with gray hair and white facial hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue polo shirt, a coat and thick glasses, the Pocatello Police Department said.

The robber was carrying a black folder when he entered the Ireland Bank in Pocatello. He handed the teller three envelopes, one containing a note demanding an undisclosed amount of money. He left “with an unknown means of travel,” Pocatello police said

The man also displayed a note to a teller at the Roy Wells Fargo, ABC4 in Salt Lake City reports. The note indicated the robber had four months to live and needed money, ABC4 said. A threat was then made requiring compliance.
