Five Siblings Need Home
Meet five wonderful siblings — Gamaliel, Keiry, Gardenia, Selena and Salomon. Gamaliel, the oldest, is a handsome boy who loves music. He enjoys playing the tambourines and loves to stay after school to play at the kids club, which is on site at his school. Keiry is a pretty girl whose outgoing personality draws adults and children to her; she gets lots of attention wherever she may be. Gardenia and Selena are inseparable. Where you see one, you see the other. These little ones always have big smiles on their faces. Salomon, the baby of the group, loves following his siblings around.
These delightful, healthy children have strong siblings bonds and need to be adopted together. The children are always looking out for one another and play well together.
THE BILINGUAL FAMILY CHOSEN TO ADOPT THESE SIBLINGS will have two parents, one of which must be Fluent in Spanish and English, because the children speak only Spanish at this time. The children’s heritage is Mexican, and their adoptive folks will need to be able to provide opportunities for them to participate in activities and cultural events that honor that heritage. Structure, routine, consistency, clear rules, expectations and limits will contribute to helping the children feel safe. Of course, it’s essential that the adoptive parents have the emotional and physical stamina to parent five children successfully, all of whom will need one-on-one parental attention and nurturing. Frequent praise and encouragement will help the children settle in to their permanent home and family. Because the children are not yet legally free, interested families need to be licensed for foster care and have an approved adoption homestudy already completed.
Gamaliel is calm, sweet, and smart. Although a bit shy with new people and situations, once he’s comfortable, he becomes his delightful, playful and, sometimes, silly self. He is a great big brother who is very attentive to his siblings. Keiry is affectionate, friendly, and chatty. A little girl with lots of energy, she benefits from having a caring adult nearby to provide the gentle reminders that help keep her on track. She loves to be right in the midst of whatever is going on so that she can get the attention she craves. Gardenia is an adorable little girl. She’s also shy with new folks and situations, yet once she’s found her comfort zone she’s talkative and animated. Her foster mom fondly describes her as “loveable and serious.” Selena is a cutie with a smile that lights up the room. Very chatty and conversational, she is developmentally right on track. She. too, loves to be in the midst of family activities. There does, however, need to be an attentive eye on her at all times, as she has been known to go right up to strangers with no hesitation. Salomon is a sweet baby who has developed attachments with his two foster moms. He routinely seeks them out for nurturing and reassurance and wants them to always be nearby. A loving and playful child, he often enjoys sitting back and observing others.
Gamaliel is attending school full time, and Keiry, Gardenia and Selena go half days. They all enjoy school and are eager to learn.
The children came into foster care most recently in 2010. Originally they were in two separate foster homes, but in September 2011 there were reunited in one foster home.
Medically, the children all appear to be very healthy. Although Gamaliel was born with a heart condition, it was surgically corrected when he was two months old. Since then, a cardiologist monitors his condition every three years or so.
Gamaliel is the only sibling who may have been exposed to substance abuse in utero. Following mental health evaluations in 2010, Gardenia was referred for counseling. She has successfully met all of her treatment goals and graduated from her therapy program. Keiry is currently being evaluated for such a program.
If you are a bilingual couple who would love to have a large family and are not easily overwhelmed by having five darling kids come into your lives all at once, you will want to make an on-line inquiry to learn more about the darling siblings.
