Idaho Falls police investigate attempted kidnapping

Idaho Falls police are looking for a man who may have tried to kidnap a woman off the street early Friday.

A 33-year-old Idaho Falls woman flagged down a police officer in the 600 block of 1st Street at 1 am. She claimed a man had exposed himself to her and attempted to abduct her.

According to police, the woman said the incident happened 10 minutes earlier as she was walking from her home to a nearby convenience store. She saidthat as she walked through a parking lot in the 500 block of 1st Street a man driving a pickup drove along beside her, stopped, and attempted to drag her inside.

She said the man was wearing only tennis shoes from the waist down.

After the woman resisted, the man got back into his pickup and left east bound on First Street.

Police identified the suspect as a white male in his 50s, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, dark hair, and brown eyes with a mustache and beard. They are looking for a red 1990’s model General Motors regular cab.
