Boy rams building with counselor’s car

A counseling session at Upper Valley Options in Rexburg Thursday ended in a head-on collision. Rexburg Police say an 11 year old boy grabbed the keys to a company car from his counselor’s desk then locked himself inside the car, which was parked in front of the building at 1120 Stocks Avenue.

Upper Valley Options counselor Scott Birkenbine says the boy started the car and accidentally knocked the transmission into drive. The car then crashed into the building. Employees were then able to get the boy out of the car.

No one was injured. An exact estimate of damages was not available.
