Pocatello Police arrest Army deserter

Pocatello Police arrested a US Army deserter after a short show down early Thursday morning.

Police Lieutenant Paul Manning says 20-year-old Brian Lee Lyons was located at 745 W. Bridger at 3:53 a.m.

While officers were outside the home officers said Lyons armed himself with a rifle and exited the house. After a challenge from officers, he re-entered the house.

Police secured the area and said they called Lyons out of the house and took him into custody without further incident.

He is being held at the Bannock County jail.
