“30 Days, 30 Questions” No. 17

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Sports Line continued its “30 Days, 30 Questions” campaign Tuesday night with question No. 17.

“Will Tanner Smith develop into a playoff-caliber quarterback for Bonneville?”

Bees head coach Fred Armstrong tells Sports Line that there’s no doubt in his mind Smith will be a better quarterback than he was last season, but it will be up to the entire team to make the playoffs in 2012.

Armstrong said Smith knows its his offense to run, and that’s brought out his leadership qualities even more. He says Smith is a “film rat,” which will help the junior signal caller better understand defenses and what the opposing team is trying to do.

Armstrong also tells us this year will be different for Smith. Last season, the coaching staff simply asked him to run the offense. This year, he’s leading the entire team.

If Smith can stay healthy, he could be the guy to put Bonneville in a scenario to contend for the playoffs in 2012.

“30 Days, 30 Questions” continues every night until kick off August 24.
