Wyoming flag stamp to be released next week

US Postal Service officials will be at the Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne August 23rd to formally dedicate the state’s First Class, “Flags of our Nation” stamp. Governor Matt Mead will be on hand for the event at 2 pm in the Barrett Building.

The stamp, which depicts the state bison flag and the image of two bighorn sheep, is included in the final set of Flags Of Our Nation Stamps, available for nationwide purchase. The stamps are only available on a roll which includes similar flag stamps from other states and territories.
The flag stamps are being sold as a series, in a coil of 50 stamps only, priced at $22.50. Stamps will be available in local Post Offices this Friday.

Wyoming is part of the sixth set of flag stamps that have been issued in alphabetical order since the first set was released in 2008.

Idaho’s flag-stamp was part of the second set of stamps released by USPS in 2008. It depicts the state flag and the image of a jumping trout.
