Children witness shooting incident in Pocatello

Three adults were arrested and two children taken to relatives by Pocatello Police after a shooting incident Friday night.

Lieutenant Paul Manning said officers were called to 262 Hyde Avenue at 10:03 pm when a fight involving a gunshot was reported. He said police found 33-year-old Alberto Cruz Jr. and 30-year-old Joshua Seth Bartausky fighting in the front yard.

According to police, Bartausky grabbed a 9-mm handgun and fired a round into the tire of a vehicle as Cruz was leaving with his kids in the truck.

Bartausky was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, and resisting and obstructing. Cruz was charged with battery.And Jessica Louann Bartausky, 26, was also arrested on charges of resisting and obstructing.

The children who witnessed the entire event were turned over to the custody of grandparents.
