Teton County posts Wyoming’s lowest unemployment rate

Although it’s described as statistically insignificant, the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reports the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased from 5.4 percent in June to 5.6 percent in July. It was the second month in a row that Wyoming’s unemployment rate increased.That translates to 1,728 individuals from June to July.

The department’s Research and Planning Section said employment tends to increase in July with seasonal job gains in construction, professional and business services, leisure and hospitality, and other sectors. The largest decrease in unemployment occurred in Teton County where the jobless rate fell from 5.1 percent in June to 4.1 percent in July.Lincoln County posted the state’s highest unemployment rate at 7.2 percent, up from 7.1 percent in June.
