LeFavour brings congressional campaign to eastern Idaho

State Senator and U.S. Congressional candidate Nicole LeFavour is campaigning in eastern Idaho this week, starting with Idaho Falls on Tuesday.

LeFavour, the state’s only openly gay legislator, is running for Idaho’s 2nd Congressional District seat against incumbent Mike Simpson.

Tuesday night, she got some help from Bonneville County Democrats to knock on the doors of local voters.

LeFavour said she’s recognized by many for her eight years of work in the Legislature and her focus on issues people care about, from education to jobs. As for being a Democrat in an overwhelmingly red state, she’s not concerned.

“They’ve been so enthusiastic and it’s made this whole campaign just 100 times easier and 100 times more fun, just to have people already connect with the issues,” said LeFavour.

LeFavour is scheduled to campaign in Salmon on Wednesday, Challis on Thursday and Pocatello over the weekend.
