Police: Drunk driver pins pedestrian against building

Police said an Idaho Falls woman drove under the influence and struck a pedestrian.

Sonja Rae Guzman-Hall, 44, was arrested on driving under the influence, a felony, after Friday’s incident.

Idaho Falls police said they responded to the Bank of Idaho parking lot on North Capital Avenue at about 1:15 p.m. Witness told police that Guzman-Hall, who was driving a full-sized GMC custom van, rammed into a pedestrian, pinning her to the side of the bank building.

The 56-year-old victim was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Guzman-Hall was arrested and booked into the Bonneville County Jail. She has two previous DUI convictions, police said in a news release Tuesday.
