Teton County Sheriff reorganizes his department

Teton County, Wyoming Sheriff Jim Whalen has announced some sweeping changes in his administration. Whalen has named Jackson Police Department Lieutenant Bob Gilliam as his Undersheriff. Gilliam, a 34 year law enforcement veteran, will become second in command in a position that has not been utilized in Teton County for the past 13 years.

Whalen also named two lieutenants. Deputy Slade Ross will serve as operational services lieutenant overseeing patrol, investigations, and court security. Alyssa Watkins has been named as support services lieutenant and will oversee the jail, dispatch, and civil process.

The position of Captain will be eliminated. Current Captain Tripp Wilson plans to retire next year and volunteered to be assigned as training sergeant to allow the reorganization to be be implemented. That system will take effect October 8th.
