Motorcyclist hurt in Pocatello crash

A Pocatello motorcyclist is still listed in critical condition at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City after a crash Wednesday night. 61 year old Daryl Shelley is awaiting surgery for fractures to his torso. He also suffered other internal injuries.

Pocatello Police said a car driven by Marian Shappart did not see Shelley’s motorcycle as she left a stop sign at the intersection of Philbin Road and US Highway 30 W. She turned left into the intersection and almost head-on with Shelley’s bike.

According to police reports, Shelley was ejected from the motorcycle, striking the car’s windshield before landing on the ground. Investigation is continuing.
