Polls busy on last day of early voting
The last day for early absentee voting in Idaho had crowds packing local polling places.
Four years ago, Bannock County got a total of about 7,000 absentee ballots, and by Friday morning election workers has already taken in more than 9,000 this year.
Election workers said ballot boxes are filling up quick.
“We usually just fill three or four of those cans, and they’re a pretty good size. And we’re over twenty now,” Bannock County Clerk Dale Hatch said.
The Idaho Secretary of State office expects turnout as high as 80 percent among registered voters.
With that big turnout in mind, many choosing to vote early, said it all comes down to avoiding expected long lines come election day.
