Teachers to get November bonuses

The Idaho State Department of Education will distribute pay-for-performance funding to school districts this month, even though Proposition 2 did not pass.

On Nov. 6, voters rejected the proposition, along with two others. Proposition 2 provided bonuses to teachers and administrators based on student performance. The performance is based off of student’s test scores. It also allows for teachers to get bonuses for working in hard-to-fill positions.

According to the Ed Department, the law will not be officially repealed until Nov. 21, so the bonus funds will be distributed Nov. 15 as previously scheduled.
