Man in jail after argument over vodka

Rexburg police said an argument over a bottle of vodka led to the arrest of a Bonneville County man.

Marshall David Lufkin, 28, of Bonneville County, was booked into the Madison County Jail early Tuesday.

Police were called to an apartment complex at 12:40 a.m. after neighbors complained that a domestic argument was under way. They said they found Lufkin fighting with his girlfriend outside the residence. Capt. Randy Lewis said she had suffered bite marks and other minor injuries.

Both appeared to have been drinking. Lewis said an argument began after the woman tried to pour out a bottle of vodka.

Lufkin was arrested on charges of felony attempted strangulation, misdemeanor battery, and misdemeanor disabling a telephone.
