Man arrested in Midget Market robbery
A man is in jail after police say he walked into a Midget Market in Idaho Falls on Wednesday night and robbed it at gunpoint.
Idaho Falls police said it happened shortly after 7 p.m. at Park and G Street.
Officers said the suspect, Michael J. Maggio, 19, of Idaho Falls, approached the counter with a bottle of wine, then put the bottle on the counter, pulled a revolver from his coat and demanded the money from the till. Maggio left with an undisclosed amount of cash and drove away, the department said.
Investigators recovered a fingerprint from the wine bottle left on the counter. It was entered into the department’s local fingerprint database, resulting in a match to Maggio.
Maggio was arrested at his home around 11 p.m. on a charge of armed robbery. He is in the Bonneville County Jail.
Police said another person may have been in the car with Maggio.
