Salvation Army donation kettles stolen

Burglars have stolen Salvation Army donation kettles in Pocatello.

Police said burglars broke a window to enter the Salvation Army building at 400 N. Fourth Ave. overnight Sunday. Several donation kettles that had been turned in were taken before their contents were counted.

Some members from the Salvation Army said 18 kettles were taken, but others claimed only the 16 full of money were the ones stolen.

Pocatello police were collecting evidence Monday, but were looking for community assistance in tracking down those responsible for the break-in.

The Pocatello Police Department encourage people to be on the lookout for anyone carrying large amounts of cash on them.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Pocatello Police Department at (208) 234-6100.
