Man pleads guilty to vehicular manslaughter

Kenny Carl Struhs of Blackfoot pleaded guilty Tuesday to a felony charge of vehicular manslaughter in connection with an incident last year that left another Blackfoot man dead.

A second felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in an injury or death was dropped as part of the agreement.

Struhs will appear before 7th District Judge Darren B. Simpson for sentencing March 12.

Blackfoot police saide Brent J. Hansen, 36, died when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by Struhs on Aug. 2, 2012. A 6-year-old girl riding with Hansen was hospitalized at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash. She eventually recovered.

The crash happened near East Harmony and Rich Lane in Blackfoot.
