Housing specialist visits eastern Idaho to talk foreclosure

A representative with the Idaho Attorney General’s office is touring eastern Idaho to talk about foreclosure issues.

Housing Specialist, Ramon Hobdey-Sanchez, will discuss foreclosure prevention, Idaho’s foreclosure process and how the National Mortgage Settlement affects Idaho homeowners.

The settlement provides more than $100 million in relief to eligible Idaho homeowners facing foreclosure.

“People are so overwhelmed with it (foreclosure) and they tend to ignore it but that makes the problem worse,” said Hobdey-Sanchez. “We want to encourage people to put their best foot forward and attack it head-on.”

The Fort Hall seminar will take place Thursday, Jan. 10 at the Fort Hall Housing Authority at 6 p.m.

The Pocatello seminar will take place Friday, Jan. 11 at Pocatello City Hall at 6 p.m.
