Two arrested after Pocatello burglary

Two men are in custody after a burglary in the 7700 block of West Sublette St. in Pocatello on Sunday. Andrae Kenneth Griggs, 25, was arrested after police said he tried to sell some of the stolen items and Wade Paul Leonard, 24, was arrested later with some of the stolen items in his possession.

Police said the resident came home at 7:54 a.m. Sunday to find his front door open and several items missing. The stolen goods included a 47 inch LG television, 19- and 32-inch TVs, a Nintendo Wii, a laptop computer, two cell phones and other items.

Police said they received information that a man was attempting to sell the stolen items at 911 N. Seventh Ave.At 1:20 p.m. officers found Griggs in his car with the stolen Wii on the floorboard. Police also discovered a digital scale with a white granular residue and an open bag of syringes. The residue later tested positive as methamphetamine.

Griggs was cited and released on a charge of possession of stolen property, but arrested on possession of methamphetamine and burglary charges.

Further investigation led police to a residence at 1730 W. Quinn Road, where Leonard was found in possession of several of the times stolen in the burglary. He was arrested around 7 p.m. on a charge of grand theft by possession of stolen property.

Griggs and Leonard were being held at the Bannock County Jail pending arraignment on the charges on Monday.
