Ammon man arrested after Ore. police find 40 pounds of pot

An Ammon man was arrested in Oregon after state troopers discovered 40 pounds of marijuana in the car he was driving.

John C. Scott, 29, was arrested Thursday after being pulled over for unspecified traffic violations 15 miles east of Bend, where he had been driving eastbound on U.S. Highway 20. The Oregon State Police said Monday that Scott was driving a rented 2013 Chevrolet Cruz with Utah license plates.

The estimated value of the marijuana is $100,000.

Scott was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on charges of unlawful manufacture, possession and delivery of a controlled substance – marijuana.
