New alert system unveiled in Rexburg

The city of Rexburg now has instant access to crimes and safety alerts thanks to the Rexburg Police Department partnering with AlertID.

It’s a free online web service, providing updates on locations of crimes and sex offender residency. The public can also create contact groups, such as a neighborhood watch system, to send instant information of suspicious activity.

You can also add photos, medical information of family members in the family wallet, which can link up to the Rexburg Police Department for quick identification in case of kidnappings or abductions.

“Its big to us. We want to be a very open department. We want the public to know what’s going on. And for safety of the community, sharing information is key,” said Chief Shane Thurman of the Rexburg Police Department.
AlertID is free to the public. Here’s the link to sign up for free: https://alertid.com/
