Former Pocatello mayor to chair Water Resource Board

Former Pocatello Mayor Roger Chase is the new Chairman of the Idaho Water Resource Board. Chase was first appointed to the board in March, 2009. He was elected to the chairmanship Thursday.

Chase served as Mayor of Pocatello from 2002 to 2010 after serving seven years on the city council between 1990 and 1997. Chase also spent three years, from 1997 to 2001, in the Idaho legislature.

Chase said, “I am honored and humbled to be elected as chairman of the Idaho Water Resource Board and am looking forward to continue working with the Governor, the Board, and the Department regarding water issues.”

Central Idaho cattleman and farmer Peter Van Der Meulen was elected vice-chairman and former Boundary County Commissioner Bob Graham was re-elected secretary of the board.
