New guitar exhibit at Museum of Idaho to open soon

The world’s biggest guitar, measuring more than 43-feet, is currently at the Museum of Idaho.

It’s part of the museum’s new exhibit that opens this week named “Guitar: The Instrument That Rocked The World.”

Museum goers will be able to experience the science, sound, history and cultural impact of the guitar.

More than 60 instruments are on display from rare, antique guitars to ones played by famous musicians.

All instruments are from the National GUITAR Museum, which travels around the country showcasing the collection.

“The guitar is the most popular instrument in the history of the world and every year in America alone, there are 3 million new guitars sold which is more than all other instruments combined,” said HP Newquist, executive director of the National GUITAR Museum.

The exhibits debuts this Friday and will be open through November 30 .
