Folks enjoy Fourth of July fun
Folks staked out spots to watch the fireworks and took in Liberty Fest Thursday afternoon in Idaho Falls.
Garrett Slezak, BYU-Idaho student, came down to get a spot with his family.
“Staking out a spot where we can all be together, you definitely have to come down here early,” he said.
Slezak says the fireworks in Idaho Falls are even better than his big-city hometown’s display.
“We’ve got some good ones in St. Louis, but this one is hard to beat,” said Slezak.
Nolan Anderson, on the other hand, will watch the Freedom Festival from a friend’s house to avoid the chaotic riverside.
“It gets pretty crazy, so we’re going to go somewhere a little more chill,” said Anderson.
Despite the huge crowds, the Idaho Falls Police Department said that so far, there have been no problems.
“Even with the heat, nobody’s had their tempers flare,” said Officer Michael Cosens. “Everything’s been well and smooth.”
