Drowning victim’s family raising money for funeral

After Thursday ‘s tragic drowning, the family of 27-year-old Lloyd Westbrook II, is seeking donations to help with funeral costs.

Just before the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration on the banks of the Snake River, Westbrook swam out into the river.

Police think he was swimming to Keefer’s Island, but drowned in the unforgiving current.

The Westbrook family is staying strong through this tremendous loss and say Lloyd is dearly missed.

The family hopes to have funeral arrangements set up for July 12 at 1 p.m. at New Hope Temple Church, but need community support.

“It would be such a blessing to pull together as a community, as family, as friends to support and help him out,” said Corey Westbrook, Lloyd’s brother.
