Rexburg man accused of pointing gun at others

A Rexburg man was arrested after he pointed a gun at his landlord’s family members, police said Tuesday.

Rexburg police said the incident, which occurred July 4 after 8 p.m., happened when the father and brother of the landlord of Christopher Armstrong, 26, arrived at his apartment on South Fourth West to fix a plumbing issue. The landlord was not there.

Armstrong got into an argument with them over a lease agreement. Police said Armstrong pushed the brother to the ground. The father tried to break it up, and that’s when police said Armstrong pulled the handgun he was carrying and pointed it at both of them.

Armstrong was arrested on two felony counts of aggravated assault. He has since been released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
