International choral groups arrive in Pocatello

The Idaho International Choral Festival will officially be underway Wednesday with the opening ceremony.

There will also be a number of performances throughout the week at various locations around Pocatello. For a full list of those performance dates and times, clickhere.

This year, seven international choirs will be participating in the event. They are:

The Youth Choir of Graubnden, from Switzerland,Junges Vokalsemble Hannover from Germany,Young Voices of Melbourne from Australia,Meng Girls Choir from China,El Caf Chorale from Costa Rica,Stalowa WolaChamber Choirfrom Polandand the Choir of Evgeni Mikeladze Central Music School from Georgia.

There will also be three groups from the United States, including the High School Honor Choir, Camerata Singers from Idaho State University and a barbershop group.

The opening concert will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall in the Stephen’s Performing Arts Center.

The choirs will also be participating in various church services around the community on Sunday, July 14.
