Pickup catches fire on I-15
A pickup caught fire on Interstate 15 northbound near Shelley on Monday afternoon.
Both sides of the road were on fire. As of 6 p.m., the fire was out and both lanes were open.
The driver said was returning from his father’s funeral in California when another driver got him to pull over after seeing some flames coming out of the pickup. They tried to pull out some of the family furniture from the back of the pickup, causing the driver to burn his hand.
The fire is being investigated by the Idaho State Police. We’ll post more information here as it becomes available.
