New flight service between Idaho Falls and Treasure Valley in the works

Grow Idaho Falls Inc. is looking to establish air service from Idaho Falls to the Nampa/Boise area with the help of AvCenter.

AvCenter already provides charter service to groups looking to go to the Treasure Valley, but this service would potentially expand that service to single-seat sales for individuals. The two held a meeting open to the public at Aero Mark in Idaho Falls Monday night to discuss the needs of potential customers.

Linda Martin, CEO of Grow Idaho Falls, said they are working to make the trip easier than driving.

“It becomes difficult, because it takes four or five hours to get over there and four to five hours back,” said Martin. “That’s a lot of productive time.”

Grow Idaho Falls and AvCenter were seeking input Monday night to determine specifics for the service.

“We are looking for information from the public, so they can help determine the days of the week, the times of day, how many times a day, etc.,” said Martin.

Martin said she hopes the service is ready in a few months.
