Organization raffles car for diabetes
Those driving through Blackfoot this week may see a wrecked car in parking lots, but it’s not accident.
It is part of a fundraiser for Rollin’ for a Cause, a group that supports families dealing with type-1 diabetes.
They are raffling off a car that is in much better shape than the wrecked one.
Tickets are $5 and will go toward funeral costs for a young boy who died from the disease last week.
Rollin’ for a Cause has exceeded its goal of $20,000 for the year, and this money will help families deal with the financial burden that comes with type-1 diabetes.
“I’ve been that parent. I’ve been in that situation where you have limited funds and you have to buy groceries and you have to buy medical supplies, and it’s not an option” said Susan Jensen, president and co-founder of Rollin’ for a Cause.
Raffle tickets are sold online and wherever you see the wrecked car. Their main fundraiser is this weekend, and is a motorcycle ride and a dinner with a live auction.
