Small fire breaks out in Teton County

A 1-acre wildfire was burning in the South Fall Creek area in Teton County, Wyo., on Wednesday.

Firefighters from Teton County and Bridger-Teton National Forest responded to the blaze just north of North Fork Fall Creek Road around 3:30 p.m. after a motorist reported it, according to a Bridger-Teton spokeswoman. The fire was visible from Highway 89.

Firefighters were fighting the fire by air.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Fire Chief Willy Watsabaugh asked that people avoid the area, as traffic would impede the firefighting efforts.
