Stephanie Hale-Lopez

Stephanie Hale-Lopez joined the Local News 8 team as a reporter in February 2012. Stephanie comes to Idaho Falls from Lewiston, where she worked at KLEW-TV as the Palouse reporter and pioneered the station’s Palouse News Bureau in Moscow, Idaho.

Although a Boise native, Stephanie decided to escape the blue and orange of the Treasure Valley and head up north to Moscow to attend the University of Idaho, where she graduated in December 2011 with a B.A. in journalism and Spanish.

An avid fan of telling stories, Stephanie began her career working with the press secretary of former U.S. Sen. Larry E. Craig in 2007. She later landed an internship at KBOI in Boise from 2008-2009. Stephanie also went on to report for ESPN-U and the WAC Sports Network, as well as produced and anchored UI’s “Inside the Vandals” and “Mostly Moscow.” Stephanie was selected as a 2011 Meredith-Cronkite Fellow by Arizona State University and the Meredith Corporation.

When Stephanie is not reporting news, you’ll find her at the park with her dog, Mia, cheering on the Idaho Vandals or exploring all that Idaho Falls has to offer.
