Man arrested in shotgun incident

A man was arrested on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony in Idaho Falls.

Idaho Falls police said the warrant stemmed from an June 28 incident.

On June 28, a man met Michael Bemis, 22, at his home on Bear Avenue. The man had been involved in a disagreement over a dog kennel with the female home owner Bemis was staying with.

When the man knocked on the door, Bemis answered with a shotgun in his hands. Police said Bemis then made a verbal threat and pointed the shotgun at the man as he was walking away.

A warrant was later issued and Bemis was arrested in Jefferson County.

Bemis was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on Saturday, police said Tuesday.
